The Mr. Biggs Videos

In the later years of his career, Ronald Isley, a legendary member of The Isley Brothers, created a character called Mr. Biggs in a series of music videos. I really love these videos because they tell a dramatic story and are really entertaining!

The videos usually featured Mr. Biggs being foiled by his archnemesis R. Kelly, with Mr. Biggs usually getting the upper hand in the end. And in the background Ernie Isley is playing his sweet, sweet guitar.

1. R.Kelly- "Down Low"- 1995

This is an intense video full of cheating, revenge, and loss. I believe it is also the first appearance of Mr. Biggs. Garcelle Beauvais plays Mr. Biggs wife and Michael Clarke Duncan plays some hired muscle. Plus take a look at Mr. Biggs hair, it's brilliant.

2. Kelly Price- "Friend of Mine"- 1998

Here Kelly Price asks for some help from Mr. Biggs. She has just found out that R.Kelly has cheated on her with her best friend!

3. The Isley Brothers- "Contagious" - 2001

The Isley Brothers continue the story from the down low video. Now Kels is back for more revenge and quickly goes to work at bedding Mr. Biggs latest girlfriend. I love the line: "I think yall' better leave this place, cause I'm about to catch a case." as Biggs pulls out his sword.

4. Isley Brothers- Secret Lover from 2001

Here Shemar Moore conspires with R.Kelly aka "Kels" over the phone and Traci Bingham plays the eye candy on Mr. Biggs arm. I'm not really sure what Shemar's plan was. Was he going to kidnap Traci Bingham? And in the dramtic ending, we see the back of Kels cornrowed head making his getaway.

5. The Isley Brothers- "Busted"- 2003

That sneaky Kels is at it again! He drops off Mr. Biggs girl at home, but Mr. Biggs is waiting the whole time and confronts the girl. She's busted after Biggs catches her on some inconsistencies on her story of where she's been. Again Mr. Biggs tells his girl to leave before he catches another case. He seems to have softened in his later years because he never would have stood for this in 1995.
